Field Safety Coordination Engineer - Esso Italiana

Esso Italiana is looking for a Field Safety Coordination Engineer with or without experience in management of safety for Refining / Petrochemical manufacturing for  the Augusta Refinery. The position operates within the Safety, Security & Environment organization with the objective to provide coordination and support to other  departments to promote the knowledge, the correct interpretation and the application of safety standards, requirements and regulations within the Augusta Refinery.

It interfaces with various refinery departments (Process, Technical, Projects, Maintenance, etc.) providing support to ensure continuous improvement in personnel safety and process safety.

Job Role Responsibilities 

  • Will be part of the site Prevention & Protection Service (ASPP per 81/08 Law) and will be involved, among others, in these activities:
  • Incidents / near incidents reporting, investigation, analysis
  • Hazards / risks identification and mitigation
  • Input for the development of DVR / DUVRI
  • Field safety audits / verifications
  • Effective implementation / improvements of safety management systems
  • Ensure correct application of applicable regulations / standards

 
The Field Safety Coordination Engineer will report to the Safety Manager
Expected Level of Proficiency 
Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Energy / Industrial / Safety Engineering or equivalent
3-5 years experience in similar roles for industrial sites will be considered a plus
Knowledge of Safety Legislation (D.Lgs. 81/08, Seveso, etc.)
Knowledge of Safety Management Systems / standards (e.g. SGS, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, etc.)
Knowledge of incidents investigation techniques / risks evaluation and mitigation
Knowledge of refining processes
